Preliminary Procedure in Case of Software Upgrade

If Desigo CC is to be upgraded to a newer version and the file Siemens.Gms.OPCServer.Settings.txt (in GMSProjects\GMSMainProject\bin) was previously modified to include the customer’s field configuration, to avoid data loss, before configuring the OPC connectivity, perform the following steps:

  1. In GMSProjects\GMSMainProject\bin locate and save the current file Siemens.Gms.OPCServer.Settings.txt to another directory.
  1. Upgrade Desigo CC software.
  1. Open the old and the new file Siemens.Gms.OPCServer.Settings.txt and then manually copy the customer’s field configuration from the old to the new file.
  1. Save the changes.
