Populating the Logical View with KNX Configuration Data
Populating the Logical View with KNX Configuration Data
Scenario: In Desigo CC, you want to create a physical structure view of KNX configuration data. To do this, you must create the logical view, map the hierarchy, and discover the KNX configuration data that will build up the physical structure.
Reference: For background information, see the reference section.
Workflow diagram:
Prerequisites:
System Manager is in Engineering mode.
System Browser is in Management View.
The JSON configuration file (a file with extension .json) was generated out of a KNXProj or ESF file (a file with extension .knxproj or .esf). See Converting the Format of a KNX Configuration File. NOTE: The ESF file is a generic configuration file whose data is not structured to generate the logical or the geographical view. Its data is structured only for the import of the KNX hierarchical structure of objects into Management View.
Select Project > Field Networks > [SORIS network].
Select the SORIS tab.
Open the Hierarchies Mapping expander. NOTE: By default, every hierarchy is assigned to Management View only.
Define the logical view as the target of the import of the objects hierarchies as follows: a. In System Browser, select the logical view from the drop-down list. b. In the tree structure, select the root node of the view and drag it to the Logical View field in the Hierarchies Mapping expander.
Once configuration data is discovered, the imported hierarchies of objects will be automatically built according to the logical level.
